SVIN25 Annual Meeting - November 20-22, 2024

Abstract Resources

Thank you for sending your work to the SVIN 2025 Annual Meeting!

This site is designed to provide you all the information you need about your abstract engagement, deadlines, and ways to promote your session. The abstracts will also be published online at S:VIN Journal in mid-November.

General Guidelines

SVIN requires that all of its presenters comply with the ACCME Standards of Commercial Support of CME. Disclose any RELEVANT financial interest or relationship that you and/or your spouse may have with any commercial supporter of the activity or the manufacturer(s) of any commercial interest that is discussed as part of your session. ACCME definition of relevant relationship: relationships with a commercial interest (rights, consulting fee, honoraria, ownership in stock, etc.) IF the products or services of the commercial interest are related to the content of the educational activity that you are presenting.

All presentations for platform/oral abstract sessions and ePosters must be uploaded through the SVIN Portal. You are required to electronically upload a version of your abstract presentation by November 10, 2025. Presentations not uploaded in the portal by the due date must be uploaded onsite at the Speaker Ready Room. If you need assistance with your login username/password or upload, please contact our SVIN Support Team at SVIN@support.ctimeetingtech.com.

Platform Guidelines

  • Provide the audience with meaningful disclosure at the start of presentation.
    • The first slide must include all disclosure information, with relevant disclosures bolded in larger font. Presenters should summarize these before beginning their presentation.
  • Design a presentation that is independent, objective, scientifically rigorous, balanced, and free of bias.
    • Ensure that all patient care recommendations are evidence-based and consistent with accepted medical standards. Use only scientific studies from reputable, medically accepted sources.
    • Present a balanced view of treatment options. Use generic names to maintain impartiality; if trade names are used, include products from multiple companies. Data on specific products or competitors must be presented objectively, with fair discussion of alternatives.
    • If your presentation includes unlabeled or investigational uses of commercial products, you must clearly disclose that these uses are not approved.
  • Slide Preparation:
    • First slide MUST be the financial disclosure slide.
    • Slides should be no more than 7 lines.
    • Use fonts that are large enough to be legible from the back of room.
    • Colors should make viewing easier (avoid light fonts and dark slides).
    • Add abbreviated citations on each relevant slide (author, year), with a complete APA style reference list on the last slide.
    • All videos must be embedded into the presentation to play properly.
    • All graphics used in the presentation that you do not own must be cited and receive copyright permission for use.
    • Slides will NOT contain any patient names or identifying information.
    • Prior to the session, speakers are urged to review their slides for material that may be offensive to some of our members on the basis of gender, body images, group caricatures or grammatical errors. NO OFFENSIVE MATERIAL WILL BE TOLERATED.

Present within the allotted 8-minute time window, with 2 additional minutes for questions and answers. Please ensure you do not go over on time. Speakers will be given a 2-minute warning prior to the scheduled end of their presentation, and they are expected to conclude without exceeding more than 1 minute of overtime.

Moderated Poster Guidelines

  • Provide the audience with meaningful disclosure at the start of presentation.
    • The presenter should summarize all disclosures, including those directly related to the work, before beginning the presentation.
  • Design a presentation that is independent, objective, scientifically rigorous, balanced, and free of bias.
    • Presenters should use generic names whenever possible. Any discussion of unlabeled or investigational product use must include a clear disclosure.
  • Present within the allotted 4-minute time window, with 2 additional minutes for questions and answers. Please ensure you do not go over on time. Presenters are expected to conclude without exceeding more than 1 minute of overtime.

    • Audio and video files must be embedded into the PowerPoint.
  • Text Suggestions
    • Minimize narrative on slides.
    • Numbered or bulleted lists are effective ways to convey a series of points.

Moderated Posters – Professor Rounds

The Moderated Poster - Professor Rounds offers an interactive, small-group learning experience within the poster hall. During these moderated sessions, expert faculty (“Professors”) lead attendees through a series of selected posters, engaging presenters in discussion and highlighting key clinical insights, research findings, and implications for practice. Participants can ask questions, share perspectives, and deepen their understanding of emerging topics in the field.

This format combines the educational value of traditional poster sessions with the dynamic exchange typical of clinical rounds—encouraging dialogue between presenters, faculty, and attendees.

Authors should check your invitation letter, Program Planner or view the SVIN Poster Date & Time to identify your assigned day and tackboard number. The presenter, or a co-author, should stand by the poster during your allocated moderated poster timeframe. Saturday moderated posters will be presented in the PreFunction foyer.

Moderated Posters – Professor Rounds Schedule

Thursday, November 20 | 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Friday, November 21 | 4:00pm – 5:00pm
Saturday, November 22 | 11:00am-12:00pm

E-Poster

SVIN is excited to announce that, in addition to our in-person Poster Hall, we will also feature ePosters on our Virtual Meeting Site! There will also be kiosks available onsite to look up ePosters.

Please note that there is no scheduled presentation time for ePosters. However, all presenters are required to register for the conference—either for in-person or virtual attendance.

Unfortunately, ePosters from unregistered presenters will not be displayed.
