Join us in congratulating Dr. Kevin Keenan, the recipient of the 2019 Clinician Scientist Development Award in Interventional Neurology for his project titled Device-based Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke Prediction for Suspected Stroke Patients.
Training program released to help expand the stroke treatment network.
Dr. Tudor Jovin and Dr. Raul Nogueira, the two principal investigators of the DAWN study, presented their trial at the SVIN 10th Annual Meeting in Boston. Removing blood clots in stroke patients presenting late (after 6 hours, before 24 hours), or who wake up with symptoms, with select clinical and imaging criteria, reduces disability from stroke.
SVIN Mission Thrombectomy 2020 is an initiative to enhance global efforts to improve stroke care worldwide by increasing the rate of stroke thrombectomy for eligible patients from less than 100,000 procedures today to 202,000 annually by 2020 and thereby reducing global stroke disability.
