• Provide SVIN attendees with educational opportunities that qualify them toward RPNI (Registered Physician in Neuroimaging Interpretation) certification requirements.
• Enable attendees to build a carotid ultrasound practice.

Speakers

Parth Upadhyaya DO, RPNI is part of the Department of Neurology in the Cerebrovascular Diseases and Stroke section. He is Co-Director of the Robert D. Rogers Advanced Comprehensive Stroke Center at William P. Clements Jr. University Hospital. He is board-certified in both neurology and vascular neurology. He is credentialed for the interpretation of both transcranial Doppler and carotid ultrasound studies by the American Society of Neuroimaging with RPNI designation.

Mausaminben Hathidara, MBBS, MD, FAHA, RPNI is a board-certified Vascular Neurologist and Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology at UPMC Altoona, where she serves as Director of the Neurosonology Laboratory and Neurology Clerkship Site Director. She is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Neurology at Drexel University College of Medicine.

Dr. Hathidara completed her Vascular Neurology fellowship at the University of Miami and is a Registered Physician in Neuroimaging (RPNI). She has extensive expertise in cerebrovascular disease, acute stroke management, carotid duplex ultrasonography, transcranial Doppler (TCD), and neurovascular imaging.

As Director of the Neurosonology Laboratory, Dr. Hathidara has led initiatives to expand neurovascular ultrasound services, establish laboratory accreditation standards, and advance quality improvement programs in stroke care. Her academic interests include stroke prevention, neurosonology, cerebrovascular imaging, and medical education.

Dr. Hathidara is actively involved in national stroke and neurosonology education through the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology and the American Academy of Neurology. She serves as faculty for national and regional educational programs focused on cerebrovascular ultrasound and stroke care.

She is honored to serve as Course Director and Faculty for the Carotid Ultrasound Workshop, supporting the advancement of high-quality neurovascular ultrasound education and clinical practice.

Dr. Sishir Mannava is a board-certified Neurologist and Vascular Neurologist. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, and completed neurology residency and stroke fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he also served as an Academic Chief Resident. Dr. Mannava is currently an Assistant Professor of Neurology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston where he serves as Program Director for the Vascular Neurology Fellowship and also as the Associate Director of the UT Neurosonology Lab for Transcranial Doppler and Carotid Ultrasound studies. Nationally, Dr. Mannava currently serves on the education committee for the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology, the editorial board of “Clinical Neuroimaging,” and as invited faculty for the Wakeforest University Neurovascular Ultrasound course.
