Presidents Message

The mission of the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) is to represent the advancement of interventional neurology as a field with the goal improving clinical care and outcomes of patients with stroke and cerebrovascular diseases. The key to any successful organization is communication. One of the new initiatives is a quarterly newsletter, which will tell you about advances in research, exciting events, and projects involving SVIN.

I want to invite everyone to SVIN’s Annual Conference November 20-23 at the Hilton Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia.  Dr. Lucas Elijovich and the 2019 Annual Meeting Committee have put in a tremendous effort organizing the event. Once again, the conference will open up with Stoke Day, being Chaired by Dr. Jawad Kirmani. This year’s meeting will include a reception on Friday at the Georgia Aquarium.  This will be an exciting opportunity to network and learn from others from leading experts in the field from around the world. The Conference will close with the Fellow’s Course on Saturday, which is again being organized by Dr. Ameer Hassan. Please look for e-mails announcing the opening of meeting registration.

This event would not be successful without the support of our sponsors. If you know of any corporation that would like to sponsor and/or exhibit at this year’s conference, please have them contact the Executive Office at meetings@svin.org or by calling 952.646.2045.

As the year progresses, we hope that this newsletter will become a valuable resource for you to learn more about all of the initiatives of SVIN such as the Annual Meeting, BSES, ASES, the journal, and MT2020.
