Welcome to the Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) website. It provides general introduction and information about the society. We aim promote awareness about the field of interventional neurology as a specialty and its role in vascular neurology. It also has features for members to provide logistic support in education and research through collaboration to increase quality of patient care.
Who is an Interventional Neurologist?
Interventional neurologist is primarily a neurologist trained in the field of vascular neurology (stroke care), neuro-critical care and intervention (minimally invasive surgical procedures). This field has evolved in collaboration with specialists from vascular neurology, neuro-critical care, interventional neuro-radiology, and endovascular neurosurgery.
Interventional Neurologist provides comprehensive care for vascular and other problems including highly skilled minimally invasive procedures for diseases like stroke, intracranial atherosclerosis, cerebral aneurysms, etc. Please refer to Patient Corner for a full list of procedures.
Why SVIN?
The society was created to achieve highest level of care for patients through increased collaboration in scientific research, educating young professionals and training young investigators. We also aim to provide opportunity to connect leaders in the field and provide a common ground for dialogue and creation of practice and safety standards.
